Canon 60Da

by boblancaster
April 5th, 2012
Canon has introduced the EOS 60Da Digital SLR Camera, a long-awaited successor to the EOS 20Da that is optimized for astrophotography. This DSLR caters to astronomers and hobbyists who enjoy capturing the beauty of the night sky by offering a modified infrared filter and a low-noise sensor with heightened hydrogen-alpha sensitivity. These modifications allow the camera to capture magnificent photographs of “red hydrogen emission” nebulae and other cosmic phenomena.

The last day to sign up for the Canon’s Explorers of Light seminar with the lunch option is Monday March 19th.  We will order a few extra that can be purchased during the seminar, however, the extra lunches went quickly last year.

You may still sign up for the seminar without the lunch option until Friday March 23rd.  We hope to see all of you there.

Lens for sale

by boblancaster
January 30th, 2012

Good afternoon everyone!

It’s been a while…I trust you are all doing well. I purchased a used 400 mm fixed prime, 2.8 IS lens for Canon online that is just too much of a beast for me to handle (6.4 x 13.7″, 11.8 lbs). I am going to put it on Ebay, but thought I would offer it to you all first. It is a great lens, clean, nothing wrong with it that I can tell. It comes with a lens cover and case (The keys are missing to the case. But trust me, this thing would be very difficult to steal out of the case! :) )

I am attaching some photos I took of it and with it. Image1 Image2 Image3

My goodness, you can see details of each feather! I am asking $5900. Let me know if you want to see it.

Have a great day!
