LAPC August shoot – Steel Wool take 2
August 15, 2014 @ 8:15 pm - 10:15 pmFree
What: Steel Wool on Fire
When: Friday August 15, 8:15pm to 10:15pm
Where: Conveyor Engineering, 1345 76th Avenue SW., Cedar Rapids
Hang on to your red flashlights, we will be heading outside at night again in August for more steel wool. That’s right, we had so many requests to twirl the steel wool again, that we are going to burn it again on Friday August 15 starting at 8:15pm. Twilight is predicted for 8:35pm. As long as there isn’t another polar vortex , I promise it will be warmer than last time! We are meeting at the same place as last time. We will spin the wool again until we run out. If you want to bring some steel wool to increase the number of runs, the steel wool that burns best is ‘0000’ (the finer the better).
We will stay on the lake this time, away from the lights of the parking lot. Wear your grubby shoes as the lake is a popular goose hangout!
If it is raining at 8:15, rain date will be the following Sunday, August 17 (2 nights later). Same time, same place.
Bring a tripod and your own small flashlight – red preferred.
If you have never seen Steel Wool on Fire Photography and are interested in what we’ll be doing, here is a youtube video explaining what we’ll be doing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJkBLMhXvcQ
As with most of our shoots, this shoot is free to attend to all current members of LAPC.
