LAPC Group shoot – Potters Hands

November 22, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

November LAPC group shoot – Potters Hands

Where:  The Ceramics Center – located in the Cherry Building – 329 10th Ave Suite 117 – Cedar Rapids

When:  Sunday November 22nd, noon to 2pm

For our November LAPC shoot, we’ll be heading to the Ceramics Center.  We’ve scheduled this shoot two other times but it flooded both times.  Hopefully scheduling in November will avoid that!  Here you can practice your art on art photography.

What do we shoot?  The Ceramics Center is not a huge facility, however, it is in the historic cherry building and in the Ceramics Center there are all brick exposed walls with huge walls of windows and tall ceilings.   Scattered about the studio there are piles, pots and containers of all sorts of artist tools all around the center.  I’ve also asked a few potters to throw on the wheel while we are there so you can get the potters hands with the clay on the spinning wheel.

If you bring a tripod, be aware of your legs so as not to knock over the plethora of breakables.

For parking, there is on street parking around the block surrounding the Ceramics Center and in the small lot across the railroad tracks on 10th Ave SE.

I do need an RSVP on this shoot.  RSVP to [email protected] by Thursday Nov 19th.

As with most of our club shoots, this shoot is free to attend for all current LAPC members.

Please consider donating 2 or 3 images back to the Ceramics Center as a thank you for letting our group inside and giving us access to the center for photography.  Please forward images or links to images – with a release – in dropbox/similar to [email protected]
