LAPC May group shoot – Musical Instruments

May 9, 2015 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

What:  Musical Instruments

Where:  West Music

When:  Saturday May 9th, 9:30am to 11:30am

Address:  1398 Twixt Town Road, Marion

In May, we are going to try our hand at a type of art photography, that of musical instruments.  I’ve had a few requests to do instruments and have been working on this one for the last year.  It has finally come together thanks to West Music of Marion.  We’ll have the recital room to ourselves and the staff will bring us just about any instrument that we request prior to the shoot.

Personally I think there is a lot of beauty in an instrument.  The string instruments are my favorite, though I can’t play, I think they are just beautiful.  For this shoot I’m hoping to capture a clarinet or flute with just the first few keys in focus and the rest blurred out.  Perhaps a brass instrument in HDR? And oh all the possibilities in B&W.

I will need an RSVP on this instrument shoot as well.  And I will need a few things from you.

  1. RSVP
  2. Are there any instruments on your wish list. Tell me when you RSVP.
  3. I’m looking for a couple volunteers to bring some kind of light set ups so we can have various stations going.

RSVP to Amy at [email protected]

As with most of our club shoots, this shoot is free to attend for all current LAPC members.

Please consider donating 2 or 3 images back to West Music as a thank you for letting our group use their space and take their time during business hours for our photography.  Remember to include an ‘Image Rights release’ note in your email for your photo donation.  Please forward images or links to images in dropbox/similar to [email protected]
