Linn Area Photo Club Monthly Meeting
March 13, 2021
Julie Coder, Secretary
Sue Biederman, president, called the meeting to order.
Amy Mueggenberg will not be doing HELP Portrait any longer. If someone else is willing to take it over, she will stay on another year to help.
Pam Olson, Program Committee Chair, said all members’ nametags have been printed. When returning the tags at the end of each meeting, please wrap the lanyard around the nametag and tuck it in.
Pam has been asking members to present at meetings if they have an area of interest. If any member would like to do a program, please let her know. Upcoming programs include:
April: Night Sky Photography, presented by Carl Bracken
May: Flash Photography, presented by Justin Tedford
Pam said the Program Committee will not do a survey, since those have not been helpful in the past. However, if members have suggestions for topics, please let her know.
Mari Phelan said the Club invited a firefly photographer to present in the past and she thought the presentation was very interesting. Perhaps he could return and present again.
Don Nelson gave a presentation for doing video with a camera. He gave camera considerations, helpful tips, and gear suggestions.
Pam led an icebreaker activity in which members divided into 2 groups. Members wrote a story about their photography and other group members tried to guess who wrote each story.
Bill Schoon shared multiple photos of wooden figurines he had carved, presented on a 360- degree turntable as an animated sequence.
The monthly contest for this month was in the category of Food Photography. Winners were:
First Place: Connie Wedemeier
Second and Third Places: Steve Thompson
Bill encouraged more participation in contests and said participants can submit two pictures per contest.
The topic for the April contest will be Repetitive Shapes/Lines or Leading Lines.
There was not a tip of the month.
The next meeting will be April 10 at 1:30.
The meeting was adjourned.
