Linn Area Photo Club Monthly Meeting
October 11, 2020
Patti Sampson, Secretary
The October Linn Area Photo Club monthly meeting was held by Zoom on October 11, 2020.
Our presenter was not able to join us, so discussion was held by those in attendance on the future of the club.
It was discussed suspending all activities of the Club until June 2021. We would also waive the Bylaws regarding the need to elect a new leadership team in November until we can start meeting in person, at which time we would vote for new leaders. The current leadership team would continue to serve until then unless members want to volunteer to be on the five person executive leadership team now since several current members will be resigning.
It was mentioned that finding presenters and organizing meetings are the hardest parts. Some ideas shared were a separate committee could line up speakers and that all members be on a committee.
It was also discussed that members could do presentationsfor the meetings. Doug Nauman stated he has a light presentation ready to go but would like it to be when we have in-person meetings. It was also suggested a section of our meetings could be for beginners. David Maley said he could do a presentation for cell phone photography.
Connie Wedemeier suggested we ask the members what they do best, and they could share it with the group. Connie enjoys the artistic side with Lightroom and post processing. Terri Thayer likes to do portrait, senior, landscape and photo stories. Amy Muggenberg likes landscape and suggested doing a five-minute presentation of trips of members at meetings. Julie Coder enjoys birds and is learning light painting. It was suggested asking members not in attendance what they could contribute.
Discussion was then held about having a new Face Book Group page for our Club. Connie is the remaining member of the communications committee, but Pam and Terri said they would help until more people are found for the committee.
It was suggested to have a meeting in November with Justin Tedford doing his presentation and see what the response is. It was also decided to have a vote at the November meeting about waiving the bylaws until Juneand holding a vote then for a new leadership team.
Sally Harms moved we adjourn the meeting and Patti Sampson seconded. Meeting was adjourned.
