Notice of Meeting to Waive Bylaws

The Linn Area Photo Club will meet electronically at its regular meeting time, the second Sunday of November, Nov. 8, at 1:30 PM, to vote on the following proposal from the Executive Leadership Team:

  1. The election of officers, specified in the bylaws to be held at the November meeting, will be deferred until June, 2021.
  2. All operations of the club will be suspended until June 1, 2021.
  3. At the June, 2021 meeting, the election of officers for the remainder of the 2021 year will be held, and club operations will resume.

The reasons for this proposal are:

  1. Many vacancies are opening up in the Executive Board, and people willing to fill them have been hard to find.
    • Executive Leader and Treasurer
    • Executive Leader at large
    • Executive Leader at large
    • Chair, Communications Committee
    • Chair, Contest Committee
    • Chair, Membership Committee
    • Past President
  2. Enthusiasm for club activities during the pandemic has been low.

The Executive Leadership Team would withdraw this proposal, and conduct a normal election of officers at the November meeting if enough members are willing to fill these board positions that are coming vacant.

  1. Even though the bylaws don’t specifically mention a secretarial position, be aware that we do need someone on the ELT to take on that task. They would take notes at club meetings and ELT and Executive Board meetings as well.
