A Unique Opportunity to Photograph the Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park
Join wildlife photographer Wayde Carrol and our local guides in an exploration of the Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park, one of the top spots for wildlife photography on the planet¡ “The most biologically intense place on Earth.” -National Geographic.
Day 1: Welcome¡¡¡
Receive a warm Costa Rican welcome and transfer to the hotel. After the welcome, We meet in the hotel lobby for dinner and orientation this evening.
Early in the morning we travel through some of the richest rainforest on earth at Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Day 3: Explore the Canals¡¡¡
Wake up with the call of howler monkeys and savor a local breakfast at the lodge overlooking the canal's scenery.
Day 4: The Amazing Arenal Volcano¡¡¡
After breakfast, return by boat to the pier in Matina. After lunch we are continuing to Arenal.
On the way to this area we are stop for take photos in the Fortuna Down Town, and then we have included the hot-springs locally owned by Dona Mireya and her family. Dinner is a wonderful home-style meal served in a rustic wooden ranch can relax in private hot spring waters. From this beautiful place you will have the opportunity to take photos of the stunning Arenal Volcano.
Day 5: Private tour of Rappel & Serpentarium
Today we will have two different locations for photos (are private for the group) the one being with a 30 minute 4×4 drives into the tropical rainforest outside of the town of La Fortuna in the shadow of Volcano Arenal. We trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience.
After this experience we are visit the serpentarium for a private session you will have the opportunity to photograph reptiles and frogs in their natural.
Day 6: Cloud Forest¡¡¡
After breakfast we are traveling to the cloud forest, past lush farmlands and verdant forests, we reach the Los Angeles Cloud Forest in San Ramon, a small farming community in the heart of the Costa Rican Central Highlands.
Day 7: Peninsula de Osa¡¡¡Amazing
A private transfer will take you to the San José airstrip where you will catch a flight to the Osa Peninsula. There you will stay at the wonderful Aguila de Osa Inn.
Day 8: Sirena Ranger Station¡¡¡
This ranger station is also located along the Pacific coast, but further south in the middle of the Park. The boat ride to Sirena from the hotel takes over an hour, well worth it for us; we are interested in exploring the Park's interior, where the most abundant wildlife dwells.
There are several trails that surround the ranger station, where you'll observe many species
Day 9: Caño Island¡¡¡
Caño Island is a paradise for snorkelers, scuba divers, and for us too¡¡ The Island can be seen just minutes after leaving the protected cove of the hotel, and the boat ride takes about 45 minutes.
Your boat will anchor at two different sites close Caño Island, The dark, volcanic rock and the open water around the Island are home to a variety of marine life
The lunch is prepared by your tour guide and served around midday at shaded picnic tables on the beach. The Caño Island Park Ranger Station has an office, public bathrooms, and an outdoor, freshwater shower.
Day 10: Back to San Josè¡¡¡
After breakfast a private transfer will take you to the Palmar Sur airstrip where you will catch a flight to San José. There you will stay at the Beacon Hotel.
Day 11: Back Home¡¡¡
Transfer to the International Airport for your flight home.
